Breed of the Week: Turkish Angora

Saturday May 8, 2004
The Turkish Angora is a naturally-occuring breed of cat, originating from the Manul cat which was domesticated by the Tartars. Eventually they migrated to Turkey, and are considered as a national treasure in that country.

If you decide to be owned by a Turkish Angora, you will no doubt consider it your own "domestic treasure." They are one of the most intelligent breeds of cats, intensely devoted, indefatigably playful with a zest for life. Turkish Angoras meet life on its own terms and love every minute of it. Quite an example to follow, it seems. The beautiful pristine white Turkish Angora feature here is Sapphire, whose photo was shared by Lin Mrachek.
