An Associated Press article disclosed that a bill has been introduced into the California Legislature by Democrat Assemblyman Lloyd Levine, of Van Nuys, which would outlaw the sale of cats cloned or otherwise developed by "genetic tampering."
If passed, this bill would affect the coffers of both Genetic Savings and Clone, of Sausalito, producers of CC (Copy Cat) in 2001, and ALLERCA, Inc., of San Diego, which hopes to introduce "hypoallergenic cats" sometime in the future.
