Friday January 27, 2006
A reader writes:

My cat is allergic to beef, rice, wheat, and chicken. The cat food given by the vet which is venison, my cat refuses to eat. Is there a good brand of cat food that does not have these ingredients?

I have a very allergic cat who has been on Natural Balance venison and green pea for more than a year. It seems to be the only food he can tolerate. Even a little bit of chicken as a treat causes the skin on his tail to infect and itch. The cost of the venison for 3 cats is more than $100. a month. Is there anything else I can do?

The Natural Balance venison and green pea is quite palatable. Our cats love it. They refused to eat the venison that the vet prescribed.
