Interesting concept, methinks, and it could help eliminate those unsafe gifts, such as mice with poorly glued-on eyes and tails. I wonder how bold some people might be with such a registry. Does everyone have a rich Aunt Pearl, who might fork over the dough for that $400 cat tower that caught your eye?

coming from someone who chooses cats over kids, this is an awesome idea. if they can have registries, why not me and my “babies”?
Exactly! Someone unzips his fly and I have to write a check? Bogus! How about someone writing me a check for adopting a cat?!
I say go for it! Let the friends of the new parents ante up for the shots and spay neuter, etc.
What a great idea! I could/can not have human children, but my kitties are my kids. I rescued all three off the streets, and they are totally lovable. So, why not indeed have a kitty shower and kitty registry at the pet store, ect?
I love this website…..I have a cat and i can take quizzes an tell me about my cat that is soooo awesome!!! Im coming to this website every day!!!
hello my wife maryann and i have indeed adopted a 6 week old baby kitty who was left out on an extremly busy interstate 80 highway where we indeed live and the person who indeed did this should indeed be fined an extremly great big amount indeed and the next person who indeed thinks about doing this will indeed think before they indeed do this indeed this should never ever indeed be done the kitties or cats should indeed be taken to a nearest vets office to indeed be adopted. my wife maryann and i will indeed give this baby kitty a ton of love indeed.
The idea of a cat shower is wonderful. In fact 19 years ago one was given to me! My husband & I were getting ready to adopt anew born kitten from a shelter. She had just been born & was not able to leave the mother yet but we adopted her & waited till she was of age to come home. We then went & sent out adoption notices to family members just for fun. When my then sister-in-law found out, she managed to get the family together & on the pretense of a birthday party had us come to their house where everyone surprised us with cat gifts! We got toys, kitten food, litter, even a cat dish. There was a cake for us & even decorations (in pink for a girl) . Being my husband & I have never had children I can’t tell you what this meant to us. I can honestly say this is about the only nice thing my ex sister -in- law ever did. We still have our baby girl “zafferinia” (meaning small sapphire) along with 9 other cats. That cat shower is a precious memory for me now.
Why not??? Maybe include services in the registry,i.e,someone to help me capture and take a feralto the vet.All the feral managers here are affiliated with organizations that do release or adoption – I want to keep this little guy.
TO SYLVIA:
Be glad to help you out –it’s easy to trap-you can e-mail me or give me yours
IN RESPONSE TO ROBIN I THINK THAT’S GREAT -I DON’T HAVE KIDS AS WELL AND WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED THAT PARTY!–THAT’S OK!-ALL IS WELL ON MY END WITH MY BABIES!!
I think its a great idea, actually. And also, many people we know, we have gone to THEIR baby showers and bought them baby gifts….its time they returned the favor.
