Cat of the Week: Tiggs

I lost my original cat when my place burned down Bobbi ran away so after a month of looking I took my 90 year old Mom and went to the SPCA to find a new kitty. I was busy looking at all the neutered males and trying to decide which one I liked best,when I realized there was something under foot the whole time so I looked down and there was the cat so picked him up and turned him upside down, like belly up thinking he'll freak and that's not what I want, well he just laid there all sprawled out and I said to Mom I guess it's this guy. To this day he does not like to be upside down like that.That was 5 years ago and did I ever get a winner. I guess he picked me.( He just strolled in)Tiggs is so well behaved I also got new furniture at that time due to the fire, so I was a little worried but told him he wasn't allowed on the furniture or counters etc right at the beginning, and showed him the difference of no and ok and to this day he never gets on the furniture unless I am on the PC to long and then it's only to get my attention. I can leave him home for days ( once, I was in the hospital) and he still didn't get on the furniture, he was upset though as he destroyed a roll of toilet paper, LOL This is his upset tool, so I got my sister to bring me my tape recorder and I talked to him , she played it and said he settled right down and was fine after that. He travels with me everywhere and is just the best critter a person could have for a friend and buddy.

I too lost my first cat a couple weeks ago to illness. I miss him so much and I hope I can find another great cat like you did. I know you don’t pick them, they pick you. You have a sweet little kitty there.
My big orang tabby, Simba carrys a roll of toliet paper around at night and howls. Then he will rip it up! I think its funny but my daughter thinks he is upset with me because I went to bed early and he know that means I’ll be going to work tomorrow.
