Iams Warned by FDA

Friday March 30, 2007
An Associated Press article in the The Cincinnati Post yesterday reveals that in January, the FDA had warned Iams to stop using chromium tripicolinate in its Eukanuba Veterinary Diets Restricted-Calorie and Optimum Weight Control dry and canned cat food and dog food. According to the article, the FDA says that this chemical is not an approved supplement for chromium, although it is allowed for pigs. The article also states that Iams is complying with the FDA in this matter.
