TIMELINE: Pet Food Recall of 2007
Wednesday April 11, 2007
As new events unfold involving the Menu Foods pet food recalls, the sequence of reported recall news in retrospect becomes somewhat confusing, albeit very interesting. Certainly, during this past month, a number of questions have arisen, which can only (and in some cases are unlikely to) be answered by officials of the companies and government organizations involved.
I put together a timeline of the major pet food recall events, including press releases and a few news media pieces, to fill in the blanks. It is as accurate a synopsis as I can create presently, given the information that was available at the time each event was reported.
I am providing this pet food recall timeline for information purposes only, and it will be updated as new events unfold. The 2007 Pet Food Recall Timeline will be linked from the List of Recalled Cat Foods, and that list will be revised in the near future with the recently added cat foods.

I have just read that Spa Select Cat Food is now being pulled by BlueBuff. This is madness. I almost bought it this last week because the adds they kept running that their foods were safe when all the others were not. I think companies should get fined for this.
I just noticed that all ads from Blue Buff are not running any more since this announcement today. Natural Balance web site is impossible to get into. There are 3 other companies hinted at, but not announced, which means that like I almost did, someone could be buying this on a shelf now and finds out that they have sickened their animal. Please find the other names soon
Wow, all of these happened a year ago but still, it bugs me. What are the guarantees that the ones in store this year are safe? They promote it as safe and healthy one moment and then it’s poisonous and cancerous the next. It is scary to see the damage done by some irresponsible capitalists to our pets! From dog food allergy to cancer.
Thanks for this info. It helps to take track of what happened a year ago to avoid the same mistake.
