Royal Canin Recalls / Rice Protein Concentrate
Friday April 20, 2007
Royal Canin U.S. has recalled seven dog food formulas and one cat forumula (Feline Hypoallergenic HP23™) because of Chinese-sourced rice protein concentrate. The Royal Canin notice did not mention whether this voluntary recall was connected to the Wilbur-Ellis recall of rice protein concentrate announced on April 18th. It was further noted that Royal Canin has had no confirmed cases of ill pets.

My bulldog has been eating Royal Canin for the last month. He has been throwing up with severe stomach aches. bulldogs have sensitve stomachs normally and I feed him table scraps so I thought it was human food. I had checked the recall and at that time Royal Canin was not on recall until tonight 4-20-07. Please don’t feed your dogs Royal Canin.
I have fed my bulldog royal canin bulldog food for 3 years now. It has been great and I have had no problems. The “bulldog” formula was not recalled.
