Cat Picture of the Week: Scooter
Saturday October 20, 2007
I adopted Scooter almost 5 years ago from the local SPCA. Although very playful, he had been at the shelter for six months due to his fear of people. Luckily, the workers at the shelter were wonderful people who showed him a great amount of love. I went into the shelter after having recently lost my kitten, Lancelot, to FIP and saw Scooter. I had met him before when I adopted Lancelot, but this time, something clicked between us.A week later, I brought him home. At first, he seemed almost feral, and it took weeks of work before I was able to touch him. Now, after nearly 5 years, we are inseperable. He is the most affectionate and loving cat I have ever met, and I would do anything to keep him healthy and happy. Every day, I realize how lucky I am to have him in my life and hope that he will be with me for many more years to come.

Cats Pictures of the Week are selected from general photo submittals. Scooter's photo was submitted for the October Black Cats gallery, and is included in the Black Cats Gallery 2, new for 2007. Scooter's photo looks regal and elegant and his green pools of eyes reflect the wisdom of the ages - the epitome of the black cat.
You may send your own photo, using the guidelines on the Photo Submittal page. Be sure to write a paragraph or so about the cat, at least two or three sentences. Our galleries have space for 2500 characters, including spaces, so don't be afraid to tell us why your cat is so special within those parameters - he or she deserves it.
