This story is the stuff of which urban legends are made, but strangely enough, it is true. The story of Rudy, the Garbage Disposal cat has been circulating email rounds since it was first published in a newspaper in 2002. Patti Schroeder, Rudy's owner, starts the story:
- This is the story of the night my ten-year-old cat, Rudy, got his head stuck in the garbage disposal. I knew at the time that the experience would be funny if the cat survived, so let me tell you right up front that
he's fine. Getting him out wasn't easy, though, and the process included numerous home remedies, a plumber, two cops, an emergency overnight veterinary clinic, a case of mistaken identity, five hours of panic, and
fifteen minutes of fame.

This is a *scream*, but obviously only because it turned out okay.
Yet another story I love reading over & over & over! I just love Happy Endings!
The poor thing, curiosity didn’t kill the cat this time. He must run the other way everytime he hears the garbage disposal anymore. Probably won’t go near that again. I am very glad he is ok.
I am glad he is okay. We have four kitties and we have a black cover we put over our garbage disposal hole. It has a little tab so I can pull it out to shove stuff into the disposal but none of them are able to pull it out. We also put ice down our disposal once a week and they hate that sound.
OMG…I read this story in the book, Chiken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul. I thought it was funny, but I was so worried even though it was said upfront that the cat was okay. but poor thing!!!
I hope my cat never does this!
Great story, but surely somebody took a photo at some stage. They could frame them, sell them on ebay and recover the cost of the damages to the kitchen.
thatwasn’t fun LOLLLLLLLL
