Help Homeless Cats During the Holidays
Monday December 17, 2007
The winter holidays are a very personal time, which we set aside for enjoying our family, close friends, and of course, our cats, who are also treasured members of our families. But it is a time of year when our universal homeless cats could use a little extra love, too. Here are some ways you can demonstrate that love:
- Buy Humane Gifts for Your Loved Ones
I've received the gifts I purchased, and they are of wonderful quality. The fact that they are helping support the cause of homeless cats makes them even more meaningful to the recipients and to me. - Buy some Kitty Blankies for your own cats, or for shelter cats.
Fondly known as "Lance's Blankies," these are the softest, cuddliest blankies any kitty has ever experienced. Lance and his lovely lady, Laura, donate every penny of their profit from blankie sales to a neighboring no-kill shelter, along with donations of blankies for the cats at the shelter. You'll also find some very beautiful jewelry on their site, handcrafted by the talented Laura. - Shop at The Siamese Store
Proceeds go to help support the Siamese Rescue Center - Donate food, toys, cat litter, to your favorite shelter or cat rescue group.
My local group holds Adoption Day every Saturday at the pet food store where I shop. It's an easy matter to pick up a large bag of premium cat food and drop it off while I'm shopping. - Cash donations are welcome too.
Even in this rushed season, it only takes a minute to write a check and get it off in the mail. - Volunteer at a shelter
If you have the time, you can make Christmas more meaningful by spending an hour or two cleaning cages, brushing cats, or just cuddling and playing with them. - Knit or Crochet Blankets for Shelter Kitties
If you're of a creative bent, you can whip up several cage-sized blankets in a few evenings, while watching A Christmas Story. Use up your yarn remnants; cats don't care about the colors and a vivid mixture would bring pleasure to the shelter volunteers and workers. - Consider giving a cat a home.
Although I do not recommend giving a cat as a gift during the holidays, if you have room in your home and your heart for another one, you will make a huge different to that cat, and reap the mutual rewards for years.

T.C.[TEA ANDCREAM] WRAPES AROUND my arm also thow not as dosaly. he wants a tummy rub, chin scratch and ear tikle. realy will he sunngle into my elbow and go to sleep. t.c. also loves to clime- hop-or try to jump onto my back to give ear washers and purrs along with paw pats-rubs. FOR the frist time sence he came to me last nov-05 T.c. laded in my lap for about a min or so big step for him from a kitty who had to be loved while parshake in a pilow case -why not a towle T.C. backs upto well and out from under the arm he,d pop then head for the kennl or hide. his brother wisky did not back up so i used one of my somesoft piollow case. I PLACED wisky becacuse i was in a realstion ship and wisky was scarded of him. ishould of keep wisky and kicked him out. They were to be fosters kittys well-. Pana also a rescue and very very afaid of oven mitten no not why. found out whene i tucked her pillow in one. she usualy takes great delight in pulling it out of what ever. Not this time puffed out-on tiptoe-bottle bush tail and under the couch she went .Pana watched tell i thew the mite in wastebasket she evene cheked basked after i dumped it. these two are also ever so curuios I DECICED safe not to decorate the house. so t.c. spread powerd milk everywere, they left presnt of apile of french green lintals at the foot of the bed and when i was gone to mac and for a day i came to a kithen decorated in spurouting peas. i have thought of bring one of the kittens up from mac and pats and perhaps even susi[the qunee who seems to have all the kittens.

Hi there all,our 4 year ginger “nueted” male cat Kipper was killed on the road around October 30. My partner and I were devestated. Especially as the rather callous shop owners just threw him in the rubbish bin. We usually bury our animals under the back willow tree.
Yesterday we were at a local market and there was a box of Kittens Free, the kittens had been found by young people on the side of a road. We have adopted one of the kittens now known as Saffron. He, I think may only be four weeks old. We have been feeding him solids (fish in aspice catfood) and I mixed it with a bit of rice and he is drinking skim milk mixed with water. But he is still passing (number 2’s)in a bit of a non solid form. It was stinking hot yesterday here in my part of Australia 45c I think he may be getting over this a bit. But I will be taking him to the vet later on this week is there anything else I need to do food wise please in the meantime?

I made this page my homepage. Now, every day when I open my browser, I click on the button and free food is given to shelter animals. When you purchase from this site, more food is given.
