Top Picks: Personal Cat Carriers

Friday September 26, 2008
Personal cat carriers are much like baby carriers, in that they provide a hands-free way of taking your cat with you on short errands, walks, or sitting outdoors in the garden. Some cats take readily to them; some don't. If your cat is a "cuddle bum" and loves to be held in your arms, she might be a candidate for a cat carrier. The one I use is the Pet Pocket 2, pictured at the right.

Oh, I wish I could use one of these for my kitties. But U just gets totally immobile from fear when I hold her at all, and O LOVES to be held, but as soon as I start walking, he panics. sigh.

Maybe they would be more comfortable in something like that. I can only carry Audrey a few steps in my arms, but she doesn’t mind riding in a clothes basket. It might just be a matter of the kind of support they have when moving.
