Call for Shelter Cats Photos

Friday January 2, 2009

One of my resolutions for 2009 is to promote the adoption of cats from animal shelters and cat rescue organizations. These non-profit organizations play a huge role in giving temporary shelter to homeless cats living on the streets and alleys of the world. Part of this promotion will be a new picture gallery featuring cats adopted from either animal shelters or rescue organizations, including breed rescue organizations. Please use "Shelter Adoption Cat Picture" as the subject of your email. If you have rescued and adopted a cat off the street, use "Personal Rescue Cat Photo" as the subject of your email. Please observe the Photo Submittal Guidelines when sending me photos.

My Billy, pictured here, was adopted from a local cat rescue organization, as were my two other boys, Jaspurr and Joey.

I rescued Shadow from the street in 1993. She passed away in Nov. 2008. Can I still use her pix as a rescue?

Ms. Mason:

Certainly you could submit Shadow’s photo for my Personal Rescue Gallery. However, since she has died recently, I’d suggest you write a fitting memorial to her for the Memorials’ Gallery. I’ll be glad to put it in the 2009 edition. Be sure to follow the Photo Submittal Guidelines, though.
