Jack’s picture is pretty cute, but looks altered. Thoughts?
Michael:
Here are my thoughts about your comment:
1. It doesn’t look altered at all to me. I do sometime do some quick editing to brighten a photo that might appear too dark on the Internet. Perhaps that’s what your eagle eyes picked up on.
2. If it really bothers you, vote for another cat.
3. Most people, as I do, give the story behind the photo equal consideration when deciding.
:)
The only thing about Jack is how beatiful he is.He is the excact image of A cat that I had And passed awy many years ago. When I saw Jack I cried because I rememberd my Genyo-Gangibre-He arrived to my life when I found a shoe box in front of my aparment door one night at around 0200AM .I was just arriving from an overtime work at the airport and was very tired from the long and messy day when I saw this box in front of my door.It was tied with a string and had masking tape also .I was anoyed for finding trash there.I grabed the box and strarted to walke with it to the garbage compactor shoot at the bulding.that was when I noticed something strange with the box,I was able to open a little to peak inside and then this thin little paw streshed owt to me with a mewwww that was the most heart breaking thing to hear.I retured to my aparment with thi golden treasure.Later I found that he was the brother of Canela .But that is another long storyto tell.Gengibre was full of fleas and worms,he spent one week with the veterinarian before coming back. The vet told me that he was only 10 weeks old no more and was anemic,After he arrived he was notorious always for been the first to try anything to eat he was never one to say that something was not good to eat and was always ready to have his mommy brush and wash him. He passed away when he was only 11 years because of rennal failure.I will never forget this sweet boy.
Franny, I see no way to vote on any cat over another. Of course there are problem cats and hyper cats and lazy cats and sleepy cats and on and on, but to be fair they are all cats, all treasures.
I have five presently, All are adopted. One in particular had his right eye socket crushed by, the surgeon said, a baseball bat. He is a softy and a treasure who might not win any contest, but his tortures and his recovery show what cats can do when loved.
Franny, maybe you can have a vote on cats that have a great story of rescue and now has a loving home, like the cat in comment 4. These stories always goes to my heart. I have 6 rescues right now who just fill my heart with love. But my story has a sad note, my last cat who is only 1 1/2 years old has FIP.so he gets extra love.
That’s a great idea, Susan. I usually lean toward the rescue cat photos when selecting my Cat Pictures of the Week, when they are available.
Have you seen my call for successful shelter adoption cat pictures? I also have two different galleries of Rescued Cat pictures.
You might want to submit one or more of yours, using the Photo Submittal Guidelines
Wow, I woud hate to have to choose between rescue stories for a vote. I love a great (or any) rescue story, though, so bring ‘em on!
The only thing that breaks my heart when I think about the homeless cats - like our feral colony - is that we can’t give them all a safe indoor home. We’re having terribly cold weather here, and I pray for our ferals every night. Plus, we bought little insulated kennels for them and they spend their nights inside, curled up on old fleece blankets. I guess it’s better than nothing; we’re not allowed to take any more of them into our apartment.
They are all so beautiful, but Jack is such a handsome guy! I have three unique and beautiful cats. One came from a litter where I had the mom, and I rescued the other two from the streets when they were babies! Animals are such a responsibility and I’m glad we all over here at Franny’s realize that. They are my surrogate children, and I couldn’t be happier.
