On the Lighter Side: Blogging Cats

Tech-On recently reported on the development of a collar which allows your cats to post tweets you can follow when you are away from home. Sony Computer Science Laboratories (CSL), working with the University of Tokyo, designed this collar which translates certain cat body actions into tweets. The technology utilizes a camera, an acceleration sensor, a GPS to record the cat's activities and translate into certain phrases (I'd assume of 140 characters or less.) Although there are currently only 11 phrases, more are expected to be added. The device is said to weigh only 5% of a cat's body weight, however from the clunky looks of it, I doubt if any self-respecting cat would wear it long.

For those who dare, it is a promising way for cats to get revenge on their hooman beans who insist on tweeting in the feline voice. I can envision someday logging in on my netbook while away overnight, to see Jenny tweeting "U left me 2 long so i p00ped on ur bed." How humiliating!
