I'm wild about men who love cats, but some of them just don't get it: that cats are not miniature dogs. Guys and dogs love that kind of rough-house pouncing, tickling, wrestling kind of play. Yes, often kittens enjoy it too, as Jaspurr obviously did in this picture. However, at 22 pounds as an adult, Jaspurr could put you in a world of hurt with his sabre-like claws if you tried that kind of play today. Fortunately, I was able to convince my husband that he was creating a monster, and taught him how to use a feather toy or a plastic straw. The lesson there is that "Hands are not toys." Play aggression is only one form of aggressive behavior by cats. Learn other forms of aggression toward people, and ways to curb them.
