Although Karamel and Rhapsody were rescued, rather than being adopted from an animal shelter, I felt they deserved a place as Cat Picture of the Week, for two reasons: First, because their rescue, along with their three littermates, saved the young kittens from a miserable life on the street, OR saved the space in a shelter for five more cats. And second, because Kathie wrote eloquently about adopting from a shelter, and about the importance of spay and neuter, even early spay and neuter. And of course, if all that weren't enough, they are so darn cute.
