Review: Merrick Purrfect Bistro Cat Foods

By June 3, 2013

Follow me on:

Merrick has just recently released a new line of grain-free canned and dry pet food called Purrfect Bistro. I recently received a surprise package of a few of the products, which I reviewed for my readers' benefit. My office assistant, Jennifer, helped with the review with some assistance courtesy of Jaspurr.

The Purrfect Bistro line of food includes five dry formulas and sixteen canned formulas, with flavors to suit every feline palate. There is even a Thanksgiving Day Dinner formula featuring - you guessed it - Turkey, along with sweet potato and cranberries, among other ingredients. The products I received included one three ounce can each of Chicken Paté and Beef Wellington, and a small one-serving bag of the Healthy Adult Chicken Dry. Please read my full review to see how these foods were rated by my fussy panel of feline taste-testers.

I tried Merrick’s ‘Thankgiving Day Dinner’ wet food at one point on our tabbies, Max and Maggie. While Max liked it well enough, I think Maggie found it too rich. It is a pretty decent wet food product if only all my cats could like it well enough.

Franny … You might want to know that there’s something weird with the link to your full review from the newsletter. It doesn’t go to your review. It doesn’t even go to the Cats page. It does go to the main About.com page:
http://www.about.com/#!/editors-picks/
Your link looked OK before I clicked on it. Is this a new route About.com is pulling for newsletter links? If so, count this as one unhappy reader. I had to so some searching to even find the review!

Dorothy, could you please forward a copy of your newsletter to me at
cats(at)aboutguide.com? I just checked my own copy of the newsletter, and both links (the headline link and the one in the body which says “read my full reviewm” and they went directly to the article.

If your copy of the newsletter misdirects for me, I’d be glad to forward it
to our support team. Otherwise, it may be something new your server is doing.

Out of curiosity, did the other links in today’s newsletter work okay?

Thanks,

Franny

In order to view the ’10 things Cats Like Most’ list, I clicked on the link in the first paragraph of that article. If you clicked on the ‘next’ button at the end of the ’10 Things’ article, then this brings you to the next article which is the Merrick Bistro review. Hope this helps.
