Cat Behavior 101
Monday September 24, 2007
I have always maintained that there is no such thing as a "bad" cat. Cats rarely, if ever, commit breaches of good behavior without reason. Since they cannot speak our language, they are forced to "act out" their discomfort, anxiety, or displeasure about something in their environment. It is up to us, their human companions and caregivers, to learn to "read" their body language and stem misbehavior before it starts.
Once undesirable habits are ingrained in a cat, behavioral modification is possible. It takes some detective work on your part, patience, and a great deal of love, but you can help your cat if you try.
