Bemisu Sphynx

With its almost hairless body, big ears and pixiesh expression, you'll either love or hate it at first sight. However, if you spend a bit of time around a Sphynx, you'll find them companionable, intelligent, and friendly-- all those qualities one looks for in a pet. Sphynx are outgoing and love to show off, which makes them always sought out in shows.

If you decide you'd love to call a Sphynx your own, you may have to wait. They're still considered rare, and most breeders have waiting lists.
Breed Brief:

Body: Medium length, hard and muscular with broad rounded chest and full round abdomen. The back is slightly arched.
Coat: Very fine as to be almost lacking. The coat resembles fine down and feels suede-like to the touch. Sphynx are acceptable in every color imaginable, and the color is seen in the pigment of the skin, as well as the few hairs they have.

Because of this very fine coat, there are anecdotal claims that the Sphynx cat may be hypoallergenic, a boon to allergy sufferers.
