Guide Review - Azmira Cat Formula
Azmira uses poultry meal as its main protein source (60% chicken and 40% turkey, according to a review in The Whole Cat Journal.) The AAFCO definition of "turkey meal" is "the ground clean combination of flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from the parts or whole carcasses of turkey or a combination thereof, exclusive of feathers, heads, feet and entrails." Since Azmira is dedicated to natural food products, it would seem that poultry meal may be closer to what cats would get from eating in the wild. I can live with that definition, although there are experts who will turn thumbs down on meal in any form.
