Innova Dry Cat Food

Innova comes close to being the "Mercedes" of premium dry cat foods. The recipe includes turkey, chicken meal, chicken, selected vegetables, fruit (whole raw apples), along with other ingredients carefully chosen from the five basic food groups, to ensure a nutritionally complete and balanced diet. Like its simpler counterpart, California Natural, Innova does not contain chemical preservatives, corn, or by-products. The fat is from chicken fat, not animal fat, which is rendered from uncertain origins. Innova also contains Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids, which help keep the immune system healthy, along with probiotics, which are believed by some experts to assist digestive tract health. If I had to choose one dry cat food only, for my cat, Innova would probably be my pick. However, because of its substantially higher caloric count, owners of rotund cats might use it sparingly.

Natura Pet Products sold its line of pet foods to Proctor and Gamble in May, 2010. Although this food is still on my rotation list of premium dry cat foods, I will be watching closely for any changes in the formula of this food.
