The Cats Behind About Sites

It's not surprising that cat lovers abound among the Guides to many topics on About. Perhaps it's because having a cat draped across your shoulders or peering at you from the top of your monitor is conducive to the type of creativity to be found on About. Or maybe it's because About Guides are passionate people about their topics, and cats generally lean toward passionate people. Whatever the reason, our Guides are just as proud of their kitties as other cat lovers are, and show them off at every chance. Here are some of the cats who supervise our family of present and former Guides and staff in our About Family Album. You can click on the thumbnails to see larger photos.

	Chloe Another GuideCat to Horses,Chloe was another cat that walked in off the street. She appeared on the balcony three nights in a row, cold and hungry. Jayne let her in and she decided to stay.
	Ladybug Ladybug assists Betsy Malloy in writing the California for Visitors site at About. Betsy says, "This photo was taken while she was sitting in her chair next to my desk, where she provides expert assistance while I work. Her comb is kept on the corner of my desk, and when she wants petting she reaches out and pats the comb!"
	Freckles Jayne Pedigo, Horses Guide at About, was adopted by Freckles. "Freckles walked in one day about 18 months ago and made herself at home. She had been hanging around the apartment and obviously didn't have a home. Within a couple of weeks we couldn't imagine life without her," says Jayne.
	Panther Panther is another adoptee to our Horses Guide. Panther was adopted from Adopt a Cat about a year ago. He was intended to be a companion for Freckles but she spent the first month hissing at him. Jayne says she wondered if they'd ever get along, but then one day they both jumped on the cat condo and started grooming each other.
	Munchkin Munchkin is a magnificent Maine Coon who takes charge of the activities of Rachel Thomas, About Guide to TV/Movies for Teens. He really is the "poster child" for the Gentle Giants appelation of the breed. Munchkin is also available in a jigsaw puzzle for puzzle fans.
