Billy's Baby Book

Kitten Photo Album, Page 1

When we visited our local Pet Food Express store on a Sunday, our mission was to stock up on cat food for Bubba, Jaspurr, and Joey, our resident cats, and lords of our dominion. The last thing on our minds was coming home with a new kitten. However, the adoption days center drew us like a magnate, and little Billy snuggled his way into our hearts.

We had seen Billy in a previous previous visit and had been taken then by his beauty and his friendliness. This time he turned up the wattage and we couldn't possibly leave without him. When I saw my husband Asa walking around the store with Billy on his shoulders, I knew we had a new kitten.

Like any proud parent, it is my pleasure to share these photos of Billy, and additional pages will be added as he grows.

Billy's Mother

This picture was taken on March 3rd, the day Billy's mother arrived at the foster home. Her litter was born two days later, on March 5th. Ironically, she was found abandoned in the community where we live, and was taken to Antioch, about 18 miles away, for fostering. Billy has made it back to his "roots," so to speak. MomCat is a lovely calico with tabby influence.
Littermates

March 6th, only one day old. Since the other kittens did not appear in this photo, I'm not sure if Billy appears in this photo or not. There is another tabby littermate with a white forehead, more brown than gray.
I'm HOW Big?

On March 24th, Billy was almost three weeks old. His eyes are open and he is able to hold his head up. It will take many more weeks before his eye color is apparent.
Mom and Babies

Mom and her litter on March 29th. Just one week short of a month old. This proud Mom has marked Billy with an arrow. It wasn't hard to spot him. She was such a good mother and I know she must miss her babies. Today, only one girl is left, a pretty black lass with a white face and black moustache.
Billy and Sister

April 3rd; almost one month old, bright and alert. His sister has gorgeous white eye-liner. By the way, Billy was the only male in the litter. What a guy!
A Kindle of Kittens

April 14th; I may have mislabeled Billy in this picture. He could also be the kitten to the far left, judging by the ears and the silver coloration. The cute tuxedo moustached girl is still available for adoption. If you live in the CA Bay Area, contact me, and I'll put you in touch with Dick.
Billy, May 6

Two months old now and cute as a button. Notice how the forehead markings are lengthening and narrowing as he grows. He's still a tiny boy - almost dwarfed in this kitty bed.
Billy and Friends

Billy with some other friends in the foster home. He is just short of three months old in this photo, and one wonders if he will ever grow into those ears. What a sweet little waif!
