October Cats Photo Calendar
Page 3 - Featured Black Cat Pictures

October has almost always been known as Black Cat Month, and our photo calendar would not be complete without photos of sleek black cats. Here are photos of October cats submitted by About Cats readers for your pleasure. Remember to keep your black cats (and cats of all colors) indoors during October - in fact, they're safer inside year-round.

Minkey

"this is MINKEY-nobody wanted him because he had some hip trouble-cant jump very high-but we took her in & is the best cat ever!"
-- Lou Fredericks

Bear

"'Bear' was found as a newborn in my front yard almost 2 years ago. He was fed with a bottle for 2 months then started on regular food with kitty formula supplements. He waves bye to his family and can cover himself up with a blanket when he is cold. He is the king of this castle!"

Mischief

"I'm Mischief, often known as "monster cat". I am a lean, muscular, 16 lbs. I'm 10 years old and live with three other kitties and my humans. Watch out, I can be agressive but when I want attention I'm friendly as ever.I LOVE to be outdoors. When mommy and daddy open the front door, I almost always run out. I never stay gone long. Two days at the most. I have to be home for my can of food. "

Higgins

"I am brother and litter mate to my Sis Skidaddlez. We were adopted together from the Baja Animal Sanctuary. My human started visiting me about a month before she brought me home. She would come in every day and take me out of my cage and hold me and cuddle me. To this day I just love to cuddle. I will come up to her when she is laying in bed and make myself at home on her chest. I also love to play with my sister when I am not sleeping or cuddling with my human. "

Jeckle

""Jeckle" is my kitty's name and he is about 6 years old. When the lady next door moved, there were 2 black kits left behind to fend for themselves. I named them "Heckle and Jeckle" Heckle died several years ago . Jeckle is a really "laid-back" individual, napping being his favorite pastime! As you can see from the photo, he didn't like being woke up for the event!"

Timber

"Believe it or not, Timber is a very aggressive cat! However, he is my son in every sense of the word. I often refer to him as "one of my boys"! Timber enjoys laying on my window sill in the warm sunlight, curling up in my laundry basket for a "cat nap", sleeping in the bed with my spouse and I, eating lots of food (but not too much), and playing vigorously with his "brother", Lucky."
