Scarlett
" She will be two years old in April and I
have had her since she was 4 months old. She is extremely affectionate, follows me everywhere and looks beautiful at all times, without having to apply eye makeup! This is the third silver shaded Persian I have owned, and each one has had a distinct personality!" Scarlett adorns the home of Lynda, who contributed Scarlett's picture.
Stanley and Ollie
L. Gosselin rescued a 7-month old blue tabby named Chess from the Vancouver shelter. Chess turned out to be pregnant, and Stan and Ollie were the results. Their owner says, "I didn't have the heart to give away the three kittens (Stanley, Ollie and Charlie (all white!) she gave birth to a year and a half ago. Best decision I ever made. Stanley and Chess pretty much spend their days by the fireplace, right beside where I work at the computer." (Chess's photo will be featured in the March calendar with other tabbies.)
Chasca
Becky has been waiting patiently for many months to send Chasca's photo. She says, "A very small cat with a rather large personality, Chasca thinks
nothing of chasing swans and then turning her back on them, ignoring their
hissing. She constantly winds up our big cat playing tag then running away.
She loves the bones off all of us and is an absolute delight to behold. The
local magpies hate her, and she's been known to outstare 9 at a time, high
up in our tree. She's a Korat, and although she's almost 1 YO now, she is
only 5 months in this photo (yes, I'm slacking...)."
Zeek
Julie sent along Zeek's photo, and describes him, "Zeek is a 5 year old Blue British Shorthair who loves to warm up a chair for you - or better yet,
steal a warm chair when you're not looking! He is truly a "teddy bear
that purrs"."
Mika
Mika was previously featured in a jigsaw puzzle, but this photo fits perfectly into the January Cats section. "Mika (a.k.a. Freaka, Little Bitty, Sqeeky); She is a 1.5 yr. old russian blue that is currently battling Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She loves to chase her tail, orchestrate music on the
air conditioning vent, play in the bathtub while Mommy showers, get
hugs and kisses, and snuggle up with Mommy at bedtime." Mommy is Flibbit27
who sent this photo.
Scottish Annie
Mary Johansen rescued Scottish Annie and is deservedly proud of her. She says, "Annie is 6 years old. We adopted her from a local shelter 2 years ago...she is a real 'talker'; without realizing it, I find myself talking back to her constantly! Shelter cats are genuinely grateful for a home and spend their days proving it!"
