Definition: A subdural pocket filled with a combination of white blood cells and bacteria, commonly known as pus; usually the result of bites or scratches incurred in fighting. Often the initial entry point is not obvious. Abscesses can be fatal if left untreated by a veterinarian, but respond well to cleaning with an antiseptic and antibiotics.
