Definition: Noun. The description of the loud vocalization used by female cats (Queens) who are in estrus (heat), used instinctively to call males to mate. Calling often will be accompanied by a mating posture called "lordosis."
Also Known As: caterwauling
Examples:
The first clue Patricia had that her female cat was in heat was the loud, insistent calling that went on for days.
