I have a 10-month old kitten on my desktop named Newton. He appears when I have stepped away to get a cup of tea, or to use the powder room. Newton has quickly found his way into my heart with his typical kitten antics. He'll chase an invisible puff-ball across my screen, jump to the top of his own Window, chase his tail interminably, and occasionally stand and lick some invisible treat on the glass of my monitor. He will sleep once in awhile as all cats will, but spends most of his time playing. The fact that he is a real kitten, not some graphics creation, makes him even more loveable.
I haven't used screen savers for some time now, as they normally eat up resources, but Newton's antics are contained on the CD Rom his program came on, and so far, I haven't noticed any memory drain.
Although the utilitarian necessity for screensavers is long past, this one brings pure pleasure!
Newton is available from Pixel Pets as a free download, or you can pay for an upgraded version, which comes with a money-back guarantee. If you don't think Newton is the Cat's Meow, check out my new Net Links Section on Screen Savers and Wallpaper for dozens of others, both freeware and shareware.
