It Makes Sense
It really makes sense when you think about it. If you're feeding your cat food that can sit on the shelf for months, it cannot have life in it. Live things begin to die. Cut an apple and leave it out - even if you put some lemon juice on it which has antioxidant properties to keep it from browning, it still won't keep for long. The small amount of Vitamin E in a package of pet food will not keep it fresh for very long either. So, if there isn't any life in the food.....how can it produce and maintain life in the animal?

You might want to read the labels of your pet foods and check out this article to understand what types of ingredients you should look for in a cat food: Tips for Choosing Cat Foods

Adding herbs and supplements to a pet's diet helps to build and maintain health, especially if you know there is a genetic weakness with a particular breed. Herbs are rich in trace minerals which are the foundation of life. Since they are no longer in the soils of mass-produced & chemical-laden farming, it's hard to get them into your diet without supplementation.

Essential fatty acids is an important item that is missing in pet foods and can easily be added in with a little bit of natural oils (such as olive, sunflower, sesame, etc.) You will be amazed at how much kitty's coat can shine and how soft it can become! Essential fatty acids are important for many functions of the body. Read more about them at:

Think about what you feed your cat and research the topic. It will not only educate you, but will save you and your pet much heartache down the road. We have had cats since 1977 and they have lived to 18 and 20 years old without the need for vet bills and the agonies of all the now common health problems. What you eat really does make a difference.

Have a purr-full day!
