Bella

Bella is the only black cat in a litter that I adopted on the day they were born, in July of 2005. When she was a kitten, she was the first to open her eyes, at about 4 days old. She was also the first one that I heard purring, and usually all it takes is a glance in her direction to start her motor. She has a purr like a motor boat, and is incredibly affectionate.

She likes to take a running leap and land on my chest, and give head butts. She also likes to play in a running faucet, and will happily soak herself and any other person/cat within 5 feet of her.

Cats Pictures of the Week are selected from general photo submittals. Bella's photo was chosen from a picture submitted for the Black Cats gallery. Although she is now grown, I loved her story and this photo of her as kitten. You may send your own great cat photo, using the guidelines on the Photo Submittal page.
