Updated 8/26/08:P-Nut was subsequently voted as Cat of the Month for July, 2007. I received an email today that she had gone to the Rainbow Bridge last night at the age of 16. She will be sorely missed by Buddy Eick and his wife, Mindi.

This is P-Nut, my step-daughter. This picture was taken about six years ago when she was nine. She is doing well today - a few gray hairs, hard of hearing and moving a little slower - but happy as can be, taking care of my wife along with our other four furry ones while I am on duty with the Navy.

Cats Pictures of the Week are selected from general photo submittals. (I do not accept photos submitted specifically for "Cat Picture of the Week.") P-Nut's picture was submitted as a general photo submittal, and will later be added to both the Tuxedo Cats and the Senior cats galleries. I loved P-Nut's story, and have no doubt that she is a well-loved cat.

You may send your own photo, using the guidelines on the Photo Submittal page. Be sure to write a paragraph or so about the cat, at least two or three sentences. Our galleries have space for 2500 characters, including spaces, so don't be afraid to tell us about your cat within those parameters.

Remember that not only the quality of the picture, but the care you take in describing your cat may make the difference in its being chosen as Cat of the Week!
