Animal lovers are up in arms over the apparently cavalier attitude by Cobb County GA officials following the torture and mutilation of a cat whose body was found in a shopping cart outside a local PetSmart store. The cat, dubbed "Baby Angel" by local animal activists, had both eyes and tongue removed, and a rod inserted through its body from one end to the other. Three young men admitted mutilating the cat, but alleged they found its body two days before on a highway in Cherokee county-- leading to a jurisdictional dispute in which neither counties' authorities seem to want to take action. The young men have been charged with "illegal disposal of an animal," even though the animal control officer who responded to the original call stated the body was still warm to the touch.

The local In Defense of Animals chapter is leading the vanguard of protests, and has offered a $3,000 award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsibles for this horrific crime.

IN DEFENSE OF ANIMALS offers a reward of $3,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved with the cruelty case involving a cat found at a local PetSmart store in Kennesaw, GA.

The animal appeared to have had a foreign object lodged inside its body and that is believed to have killed the cat. Four young persons were filmed on an outside security camera at PetSmart leaving something in a shopping cart.

Anyone having information should contact the Cobb County Police and have them contact In Defense of Animals.
