Jaspurr and Joey are now the official "GuideKittens" for the About.com Cats GuideSite. As you can see, they're growing every day. In fact, if you're very quiet, you can almost hear them grow!

One of the first "toys" we purchased for the kittens was this great "tunnel," which isn't very pretty, but makes for some great chase games, as well as "hide and seek." It's a concrete pouring form and can be found in various sizes at building supply stores. We whisked them to the vet the day after they arrived, and Jaspurr weighed in at 2.8 lbs; Joey at 2.7.
There was plenty of time after the first vet visit for both sleep and play. Joey was a bit of a "runt," and still needed a lot of the former. Incidentally, of the five kittens in the litter, Joey was born first and Japurr last. Kind of "bookends" to their three sisters.
After about a week, we took the kittens outside one nice day, just long enough to take some photos of them. It was quite a scary experience for them at first, until they decided they wanted to try to scale the box we had them in.
Once the kittens were big enough to be allowed on the "big bed," they soon found all the nifty "toys" available there - such as Dad's newspapers.
