Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

Othello

"Our beloved cat, Othello, died last Friday from feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, (FHC). He was the most loving cat one could imagine. He would greet us at the door when we arrived, would jump up next to us for petting and even allowed my husband to rest his head on his belly while he was being petted.

I would hope that you would post his picture on your website. He meant so much to us. As far as we are concerned, we lost our own son. Your readers need to be made aware of this devastating syndrome. For some reason, FHC is more common in long haired male cats of mixed pedigree. Othello was a Maine Coon mix who brought joy to us every day of his life."

Kira

"We originally adopted Kira from the Elmsford Animal Shelter in New York back in May 1998. She was a very special cat who loved attention of any kind and had an extra digit on each paw! This is a picture of her waiting patiently for her Daddy to come home from work. She was an integral part of our family for 5 years, but unfortunately passed away last December due to Chronic Kidney Failure. She will be deeply missed."

Baby

"This is 'Baby,' who I affectionately called 'Baby Kitty.' She was my shadow, my cuddler, my entertainment and my relaxation. Baby ate nearly as much as my German Shepherd and literally screamed for more food, yet she would not grow. I took her to the vet only to learn that she was diabetic. So, I learned to test her blood sugar and to give her insulin injections. She was put on a special diet, and continued to lose weight despite my efforts. The diabetes caused her to have kidney failure and we lost her June 2002. Before passing on she snuggled up under my chin with her paws around my neck. That was a moment I will never forget! And Baby Kitty will live on in my heart forever!"

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

This section will always be "in production," and your tributes to your own Special Cats are encouraged. It is always difficult to say "goodbye" to a cherished friend, and a tribute is one way of easing the pain while saluting the cats who bring so much happiness to our lives. You may submit your photo and tribute using the guidelines on the photo submission page.
