Melrose Humane Society The Melrose Humane Society web site is managed by Gert and Eddie, of Clydesight2.0 fame, with a little help from two insane Chihuahuas, Puck and Snuggles. These official "spokespets" take visitors all through the site, explain how the Society works, and manage the adoption sections. There are two adoption areas: one devoted to Cats, the other to dogs. I've been told that the MHS even had a hedgehog once, and of course Gert and Eddie helped with that adoption. Gert and Eddie have a very unique sense of humor which they freely share on the site, providing visitors with an enjoyable as well as educational experience. The Society operates a series of shelters; "safe houses," individual homes where the volunteers take in the animals. Where a dog can't be placed in a safe house, the Society has an arrangement with a kennel for boarding. Some members of the Society also help with assisted adoptions, helping find homes for lost dogs that the Society can't help. Volunteers for the Society hand feed young animals and actively socialize feral cats. Always going one step further, these selfless people are accomplishing wonderful work. You can help too, by adopting a cat or dog, if you live in the Northeast Connecticut area, or by becoming a Member or a Sponsor. Gert and Eddie will thank you, as they were originally adopted from the Melrose Humane Society. Their human companion, C.H.U. of Clydesite2.0 donated the MHS as a token of gratitude and love. I think you'll love it too.
