The Cats Site of the Week honors one cat site each week for excellence in web site design, format and content. Much like sites which have received the Best of the Net awards, Cats Sites of the Week simply leap off the screen and demand to be explored. They are really in-your-face web sites, and as such, deserve special recognition. This week's honored site is just that.

Catalina Island Cats

On Romantic Catalina Island reside Linda and John Garvey, and their home is sanctuary to their rescue cats, Klooser, Delman, and Kendrick, as well as Bartacus, Megan and Sarabelle.

When Linda and John are not rescuing kittens and cats, they're running their very own television show on local channel 49, where they do local news features, Catalina history & nostalgia, interviews with local folks and visiting celebrities -- everything about the Island, for residents and visitors alike. As a sideline to learning how do create video for the T.V. show, Klooser ended up with his own video, "The Cat Whose Dream Came True."

The Garveys not only rescue cats on Catalina Island, but also sponsor cats in Sanctuaries across the world. I'd say they set a pretty good example for other cat lovers.
