ARF Kitties are Oblivious to Visitors

Franny Syufy
These ARF kitties also seem oblivious to visitors. Other rooms are visable in the background through the glass walls of their room. During my entire visit I was impressed again and again at the obvious comfort of the rescued cats at ARF. The "cat huddled in a cage" syndrom simply does not apply here. These cats are as happy as they can be in an "institutional" circumstances, and the care and love they are given by the ARF volunteers is reflected in their relaxed and happy demeanors.

ARF's mission of bringing people and animals together to enrich each other's lives is amply demonstrated within their walls. Each rescued animal receives medical care, socialization, and plenty of love, and all are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. In additon, ARF provides follow-up support for the life of the adopted animal. If for some unforseen reason an adopter cannot keep an adopted cat, ARF will help in finding a new home. Still, with ARF, as with other adoption agencies, it should always been understood that adopting a cat, like adopting a baby, is a lifetime commitment - up to 20 years or more, in the case of a cat.
