For the cat lover who wants to surround himself or herself with everything feline, cat calendars are an absolute must. Everyone in my family puts cat calendars in their winter gift-giving lists. These are my favorite cat calendars for 2011: desk calendars, wall calendars, mini wall calendars and lovely cat picture calendars. These cat calendars make lovely inexpensive gifts for cat lovers. Why not consider one as a gift for yourself, too?

Photo Credit: © Rosie SorensonFrom Rosie Sorenson, author of "They Had Me At Meow," comes this new calendar. Each page is illustrated with a photo of the cats at Buster Hollow, the cat colony Rosie has managed for the past 15 years.
Rosie is actively working with cat rescue groups to use her book as part of their community education and fund-raising efforts. A portion of all sales goes to help homeless kitties.
The calendar comes in standard sizes: Small, Standard, and Huge, priced accordingly. (The small is presently priced at $19.45 - cheaper in bulk.)
Alley Cat Allies is to be applauded for the outstanding work these volunteers do to promote TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) of feral cats, THE only humane solution for the "problem" of feral cat colonies. My hat goes off to the thousands of ACA volunteers for waging a constant campaign against the "trap and kill" mentality.
For 2011, ACA has produced two calendars:
- 12 Great Ways to Get Involved
Gives tips on ways you can impact the lives of feral cats and showcases the beautiful outdoor cats your donations help. (Pictured here. - Office Cats LOL It Up
Office Cats LOL It Up calendar stars the office cats who keep the Alley Cat Allies staff company and inspire their work.

As always, the calendar pages are loaded with quotes, breed information, health and care tips, and lore.

Photo Credit: © Martine CarlsenI love cat calendars and usually buy several every year as holiday gifts for friends and family. This one really tickles my funny-bone, with great full-color cat drawings depicting the way cats have of taking over our lives.
This calendar is published by Cafe Press and has U.S. Holidays printed on it. It measures 11" x 17" when hung.
By way of disclaimer, I have an (unrelated) business association with Martine Carlsen.

Martine gets her inspiration on cat behavior from her own two Abyssinian cats, Sonny and Cher, who rule her home. Cats & Computers describes the attitudes of most cats I've know, and the illustrations will tickle the funny bones of cat lovers. You will definitely find yourself "monitoring" the behavior of your cat around your computer after seeing this calendar. The calendar features 13 of Carlsen's drawings in all, and measures 11" x 22" when hung.
