Cat lovers can be identified instantly when you enter their homes and see all the wall decor, which usually includes framed prints and posters of cats. These are my 10 particular favorites, from the stunning and imaginative art of Eve Riser-Roberts to the outrageous paintings by Andy Warhohl.
Eve Riser-Robert's art is exquisite, and she has captured the style of several famous artists with her imaginative interpretations of how they would have painted portraits of their own cats. I chose Manet's Cats and Matisse's Cats for gifts, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of the prints - a really affordable way of giving fine art to a favorite person.
This has to be one of the most darling posters I've ever seen, and it is also on my "must have" list. Eleven of the most adorable kittens line up side-by-side on the edge of a bed under a pink blanket. The poster measures 21" x 62" and would be wonderful for framing the top of a door or over a bed.
My bathrooms all feature cat-related decor, and this print will add to the "feline mystique" of one of them. A gray tabby dozes in an old-fashioned tub, white a mouse cavorts on the rim. The print, by A. Longston, is 8" X 10".
Andy Warhol fans will enjoy these art prints that I assume were a series. There is indeed a blue pussy in the group, but my favorite is the gray (or is it green?) tabby.
Three cuddly kittens, each in a sock, hanging side-by-side from a clothesline. If your taste runs to whimsical and you love kittens, you'll love this photo poster. Sized 16" X 20".
This popular poster features 21 cats posing for the camera, with their faces distorted with a "fish-eye" lens look. For some reason unknown to me, it's really kind of appealing. The print measures 11.75" X 36" and will probably be expensive to frame.
This chubby tuxedo cat by artist Jane Heyes looks very much like an emperor penguin, especially with his pose against a dark blue water background with a white sailboat on the horizon. Print size is 13" x 13".
My favorite orange marmelade cat poses in the garden with daisies and butterflies in attendance. The print, by Jo Parry, measures 12" X 10".
A twin (or maybe sibling) of the stylized marmelade cat in Garden Cats 1 sniffs a bouquet of roses, while white daisies dance against the dark blue background. By Jo Parry, also measures 12" X 10".
Lovely photo print of three cats peering over a wooden fence, against a darkening sky. The 20" X 30" print is by Richard Woods
