Cat Picture of the Week: Callie

Callie

Like many cats Callie has many names. Just a few are Callie, Callie-coe, Coco, Coco-moe, and Miss Pretty. Callie was a neighborhood stray. After we acquired two other cats, she brought a kitten to our house. We eventually ended up adopting both her and the kitten.

Although we don't know her breed, Callie has many characteristics of a Norwegian Forest Cat. She has the beautiful mane and ruff seen here, but loses them along with the big, fluffy body in the summer time.

Our other three cats, including her kitten (now grown), are very mean to her. For that reason we often hear Callie saying "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful."

Callie's photo was also featured in the 2008 Longhair Cats Gallery. I was struck by her stunning beauty, her captivating eyes, as well as Sally's devotion to her.
