Our vets office had 9 kittens available for adoption one day in April 2007 when I stopped in for other reasons. I told my husband and we decided about a week later to go up and see about adoption.
To our surprise, there were only 4 kittens left. Littermates that were FIV positive and another pair of tuxie 11 week old sister littermates. My husband was insisting on only adopting one and we didn't feel educated enough to take the FIV positive kittens. My husband picked out the kitten the vets techs had been calling Kitler because of her mustache and the fact she was quite a hissy little thing. The vet techs worked on my husband, telling him how pairs do better together, etc. So that April 30th 2007 we ended up bringing home the tuxie sisters.
We liked the name Kitler, but shortened it to Kit and kept it for her. Kit's sister had been dubbed "Pussoulini" by the vet techs, but we changed that to Molly. Both my husband and I had a lot of fun watching their personalities develop and their playing together. Many times since the adoption my husband has said "I'm so glad I agreed to bring Molly home, too, I can't believe I was going to leave her by herself without her sister."
Kit is a very "in your face" kind of personality. Molly is more shy and reserved, but has her times when she likes to give lots of loving. Although Kit was the first to have cuddle sessions with my husband, easing the ache of the loss of Aggie, Molly has taken to visiting him in bed in the middle of the night for some loving. They have been a wonderful addition to our family and we look forward to many years of sharing our hearts and home with them.

Another "two-for-the-price-of-one" cat picture of the week. This photo was so darling that I had to feature it, and the adoption story clinched it. It was very reminiscent of the sales job I had to give Asa before we adopted Jaspurr and Joey. There are definitely times when two kittens are better than one, as Pat's husband has learned. Kit and Molly also appear in the 2008 Tuxedo Cats Picture Gallery.
