This is Tinka Bella – she is our petite rescue who is 15 weeks old in this photo. She has become fast friends with our 90 pound, 13 year old Black Lab-Shepard cross who is mostly blind and half deaf. It took a few weeks for Tinka to realize that Buddy cannot see her and will not chase her like other dogs. He will however search the house for her and help her eat her treats – exactly what we wanted – someone to keep Buddy active & company – he even shares his beds with her.
She is very friendly and will greet anyone who comes to our door. She is fascinated with Scuba Steve, our fighter fish, and because of him she is allowed on the table – I know, probably not the best manners, but she does not attempt to hop on the table when we are using it.
With so many cats in the neighborhood, Tinka is an indoor cat; although we are considering harness training with her because she seems envious of Buddy and his walks. Her favorite toy is an envelope crunched up in a ball – so much for all the fancy toys I bought her. She is our lovely little girl.
PS – the bell on her collar is for Buddy – just in case she decides to sneak up on him – she doesn’t seem to mind it.
