Senior Cats Vanity and Tori
Vanity is the one I call my natural born kitty. She turned 15 in August, and we've been together since she was 8 weeks old. We have been through a lot together, and she has been the best friend a cat lady could ask for. Of all my cats, Vanity is definitely the most spoiled. She loves to be close to me and is on me as much as possible. She loves to cuddle in my lap and gives me little kitty kisses on my cheek to wake me up each morning. True to her name, Vanity knows she is beautiful and loves to be brushed and adored by anyone, anytime. In fact, she gets jealous when she is not the center of attention. Luckily, she doesn't have to worry about that too often.

Tori turned 11 years old this past January. It is hard to believe she has been part of our family for 11 1/2 years! My husband (at that time still boyfriend status) and I decided we wanted a second cat to keep Vanity company. Vanity was about 3 1/2 at the time. As luck would have it, a co-worker was feeding a semi-feral cat at her house, and that cat had kittens. There were 4 of them, two black, one gray, and a little tiny dilute tortoiseshell. We already had one cat, and wanted another female, so decided on the torti sight unseen.

My co-worker and her daughters brought the kittens to work for me to see when they were 5 weeks old. Tori was the calmest of the bunch. A week later, when it was time to take her home (we didn't know about waiting until 8-12 weeks of age back then), it was a different story! This little kitty was totally nuts. She was the most active, playful little girl, and was not afraid of anything, and gravity did NOT effect Tori.

Vanity was less than pleased about the new addition, but Tori was fearless and by the end of the first weekend they were slowly becoming friends. Tori loved Vanity and always wanted to lie on top of her. Tori is definitely the quirkiest of our cats, but she is a sweetie. Right away, she figured out that I was Vanity's person, so she claimed Rick as her own, and her true love for him has never faltered. She is definitely a Daddy's Girl.
