Keep the Dryer Closed at all Times

clothes dryer check for cats

Close the dryer securely after each use and check the drum before using in case a cat is inside.

Franny Syufy
All too often, I hear about tragedies that happen when a cat has curled up in a warm clothes dryer to sleep, and his unwary owner has thrown a load of clothes on top of him and started the dryer. Needless injuries or death can be averted by making a habit of keeping the dryer closed when not in use, and consistently checking the drum before using. Follow the same practice with refrigerators and freezers. Cats are curious creatures and they can quickly jump into one of those appliances when your back is turned, especially when tasty treats are stored inside. No one ever wants to find a "catsicle" in their freezer!
