PepperJack was born Oct. 14, 2005, and so was a year old when this photo was taken, as you can see he was in his full winter coat, outside, which is his favorite place to be in our Eastern Washington hometown, Airway Heights. His coat soon changed even darker starting last summer, his back is darker now. Anyway, he is usually quiet, but isn't shy about asking for attention every time my wife or I are near. He has a very large frame, but under that healthy coat, he is lithe, he has a large appetite and is very agile and capable of catching whatever comes up the pike, as a cat should.
He is not sheltered and has been taught the ropes of country life well by his mother. Obviously he is the light of our family of five, My wife Lori, sons Jon, Dwight and Joe. The boys have held PepperJack since the minute he was born, and named him at the same time, because of the milky color of the Balinese coat.
