We adopted Billy at five months. He was a scrawny, sick, undernourished kitten that only appeared to be two months old, according to our veterinarian. He had to be isolated from the other cats for treatment of a URI, so it fell to my son, Lance, to care for him. Lance was horrified when he first saw him - he thought for sure we had dragged home another girl kitty.

Now, four years later, Billy is a fat, sassy, snooty little guy who dominates Lance's attention and considers him to be HIS human. Billy talks to Lance all the time, and their conversations are always fun to listen to. They play "fetch" together, and Billy often wakes Lance in the middle of the night by biting his forehead, so he will play with him.

He loves to tease our other cats, especially Jaspurr. Billy will "nip" at Jaspurr's toes while he is sleeping. Jaspurr will take his teasing only so long, and then he'll give BilBil a couple of whaps alongside the head, which usually puts him in line.

Billy is a beautiful, amazingly smart little cat and we all adore him. On the other paw, although he adores Lance, he is only now starting to warm up to my hubby, Asa, and he'll barely give me the time of day. Ungrateful little beast - doesn't he know who rescued him and pays for his food? ;) I guess he's strictly a "guy's cat," our Billy.
