They say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Lion's cuts for longhair cats, particularly Persians, can be done for reasons of coolness, cuteness, or, in the case of 13 year old Persian Princess here, as part of a grooming procedure necessitated because of mats on her stomach. Princess was definitely not pleased by the experience. Mats can be particularly painful for older cats, but can be prevented by a regular program of brushing.
