This is my dad, and a wonderful cat named Amber. Amber was a stage kitten, and after the show was over, I gave him to my parents for their 25th wedding anniversary. We thought he was a girl, and my dad named "her" after "Forever Amber." The name stuck, even after the testicles didn't. My dad loved Amber (and all cats). This is right around Christmas of 1975.
Dad was the only one in the family who liked liver, and every once in a while he would take the "stuff" from the chickens he had bought over the last couple of weeks, and fry up the liver and stuff. He would cut some up, and let it cool, and give it to Amber. Then he and Amber would have a little feast, all for themselves. Poor Amber got his leg caught in a leg-hold trap, and had to have it amputated, but that never slowed him down. He was a sweetie.
