Warner Bros. used the old tried-and-true ploy of cats as ruthless villains who get their comeuppance in the end, with a lot of violence along the way. Still, if for nothing than the technology, this film is worth owning, especially for the younger folks.

Milo and Otis (cat and dog, respectively) are good buddies with a penchant for mischief. They get into trouble when one of them falls into the river, and they are both rushed away to a series of adventures. Japanese filmmaker Masanori Hata was four years in the making of this film, and the panoramic beauty of the scenery adds to the poignancy of the story. Available in both DVD and VHS.
